Silver Lake Intermediate School Presents...Mary Poppins, Jr!
London, 1910. Our cheerful Bert, the "Jack-of-all-Trades" introduces us to the Banks family. They are in dire need of a Nanny who can handle the antics of two impossible children. Mary Poppins arrives at Cherry Tree Lane to teach Jane, Michael, George, and Winifred how to be a family with "A Spoonful Of Sugar" and her own Practically Perfect brand of tough love.
Along the way we meet lots of amazing characters... statues that talk and dance, the eccentric Mrs. Corry, and the terrifying Miss Andrew... plus chimney sweeps galore!
Based on the books of P.L. Travers and the iconic movie of 1964 starring Julie Andrews as Mary, the Musical Theater version of Mary Poppins opened on Broadway in 2006. Mary Poppins, Jr. takes the vocal numbers into ranges more suitable for young singers and keeps the singing and dancing fun for performer and audience alike!
