The Western Lakes Fire District will perform a controlled burn at the Nature Hill Intermediate Prairie on Thursday, March 21, 2019, starting at 3:30 p.m. The burn will occur North of Nature Hill Intermediate, along the East side of the path. WLFD trucks will be present at the school during this burn.
In order for the burn to proceed, the area needs to be dry and have little to no wind. If the weather conditions are not appropriate, the burn will be rescheduled to a later date. Nature Hill Intermediate Ecology Club students will also have the amazing opportunity to observe the burn and learn more about maintaining the prairie.
