ANNOUNCING THE OHS ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME 2019 INDUCTEES: We are excited to announce the creation of the Oconomowoc High School (OHS) Athletic Hall of Fame and the 2019 inaugural class of inductees. The OHS Athletic Hall of Fame was created to honor the outstanding achievements of individual athletes, coaches, and friends of the Athletic Program who have contributed to the success, tradition, integrity, development, and promotion of Oconomowoc High School Athletics. SILVER LAKE INTERMEDIATE PRESENTS MARY POPPINS, JR! Silver Lake Intermediate is continuing their strong tradition of musical theater by presenting, Mary Poppins Jr. Please join us for one of the shows, February 28-March 2, at the Oconomowoc Arts Center. Tickets are on sale now at www.TheOAC.net.

SPRING BREAK REMINDER: OASD Spring Break will be March 23-31, with school resuming on Monday, April 1. Easter Break in the OASD will be April 19-22, with school resuming on Tuesday, April 23.

OASD SUMMER SCHOOL 2019 – ONLINE REGISTRATION: Online registration for Summer School 2019 will open on April 8, at 6:00 a.m., and will close on April 17, at 12:00 p.m. All registration will occur using your Skyward Family Access online account. Course brochures will be posted at www.oasd.org/SummerSchool on March 21. Summer school will be held June 17-July 26, 2019, at Greenland Elementary School for 5K-grade 3, Nature Hill Intermediate School for grades 4-8, and Oconomowoc High School for grades 9-12.

Staff Spotlights

In the last OASD parent satisfaction survey, we asked parents if there were any staff members they wanted to recognize for good work. The positive response was so overwhelming that we'd like to honor those staff members by sharing a weekly Teacher Tuesday Spotlight, along with our Faculty Friday Spotlight.

Facility Updates

MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY: Interior work at the new Meadow View Elementary is progressing quickly. The building is now enclosed and being heated. Interior framing in the Gym and Café areas is 85% complete and drywall installation is underway. Concrete for the social stairs is complete as well. In the 4K/5K wing, drywall installation is 95% complete and painting will begin this week. In the grade 1-4 wing, roof installation is nearly complete, window installation begins this week, and interior wall framing is underway on the second floor.

CHATFIELD INSTRUMENT RESTORATION CAMPAIGN: Oconomowoc High School is leading a campaign to restore four beautiful, handcrafted, vintage string instruments: two violins, a cello and a viola. These fine musical instruments were built by local musician Frank Chatfield, and donated to the school in the 1930's. The donated instruments were used by students for several decades until they fell into disrepair and were put into storage. In 2015, OHS launched a campaign to preserve these instruments and restore them to playing condition. Visit our website for more information on the campaign and to make a tax deductible donation to preserve these instruments.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Good luck to the Varsity team as they head to Sheboygan North High School for Regionals tonight!

GIRLS BASKETBALL: The Varsity team completed in the regional semifinal last Friday against Brookfield Central. The team worked hard but ended with a 71-48 loss.

BOWLING: Good luck to Chandler A. who's competing in the High School Bowling Club Championship this weekend in Green Bay.

CHEER: Good luck to the OHS Cheer Team at the State Cheer Championships in La Crosse this weekend.

GYMNASTICS: Congratulations to the OHS Gymnastics that competed in the Varsity Sectionals on February 22, hosted at the OHS Gale Douglas Fieldhouse.

SKI TEAM: Congratulations to the JV boys and girls ski teams for their competition at the Midwest Ski Conference Junior Varsity Meet on February 21. The JV boys team finished fourth and JV girls team finished fifth.

WRESTLING: Congratulations to our OHS Wrestlers who competed at State last weekend! OHS senior, Keagan L., finished with a sixth-place medal, becoming the first OHS wrestling medalist since 2016. Fellow OHS senior, Theo R. and junior, Jacob M., worked hard at state but did not medal. Theo will head to Bemidji State University next year and join their football team.
