Staff Spotlights
In the last OASD parent satisfaction survey, we asked parents if there were any staff members they wanted to recognize for good work. The positive response was so overwhelming that we'd like to honor those staff members by sharing a weekly Teacher Tuesday Spotlight, along with our Faculty Friday Spotlight.

Facility Updates
MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY: Painting is nearly complete in the 4K-5K wing, and the ceramic tile in the bathrooms in this wing is also nearing completion. The ceiling grids are installed in the classrooms, awaiting above ceiling inspection in order to place the ceiling tiles. The gymnasium ductwork is being installed along with the piping for the fire suppression system. That space will be ready for painting very soon. Metal framing on the first floor of the Grade 1-4 wing is complete and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough in is well underway. Metal framing is underway on the second floor of that wing as well. By the end of the month, we anticipate that all drywall will be installed and painting will be nearing completion in the Grade 1-4 wing. Light fixture installation will begin in the gym, and metal framing will be finished in the commons area.

OHS WIND SYMPHONY PERFORMING IN THE 28TH ANNUAL MUSIC FOR ALL NATIONAL FESTIVAL NEXT WEEK: The Oconomowoc High School Wind Symphony has been selected as 1 of 15 high school wind ensembles in the country to participate in the 28th Annual Music For All National Festival, taking place next week. This is the 4th time the OHS Wind Symphony has been selected to perform (1992, 1998, 2016 and 2019) and our Wind Symphony remains the only high school wind ensemble ever selected from Wisconsin. Each year, Music For All selects only the best of the best high school and middle school wind ensembles, orchestras, and choirs to be featured at this event. Schools from California, Alabama, New York, Illinois, Hawaii, Georgia, Puerto Rico, Wisconsin and more have been selected for this year's festival.
OHS AP ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE CLASS IS MAKING REUSABLE GROCERY BAGS: AP Environmental Science students and teacher, Kelly Holtzman, are sewing reusable grocery bags on April 26, in celebration of Global Youth Service Day and the Boomerang Bags movement. These bags will be distributed in Oconomowoc for people to use, for free, instead of plastic bags. Students need help with donations to make this project possible. Visit the OASD website for more information then join these students in sewing reusable bags on Friday, April 26, from 7:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the OHS East Campus Board Room.
CHATFIELD INSTRUMENT RESTORATION CAMPAIGN: Oconomowoc High School is leading a campaign to restore four beautiful, handcrafted, vintage string instruments: two violins, a cello and a viola. These fine musical instruments were built by local musician Frank Chatfield, and donated to the school in the 1930's. The donated instruments were used by students for several decades until they fell into disrepair and were put into storage. In 2015, OHS launched a campaign to preserve these instruments and restore them to playing condition. Visit our website for more information on the campaign and to make a tax deductible donation to preserve these instruments.
