TAKE IN ONE OF OUR INTERMEDIATE sHOWS! Nature Hill and Silver Lake Intermediate are continuing their strong tradition of musical theater by presenting two new shows this year. Please join us for one of these productions, tickets are on sale now at www.TheOAC.net.

Elementary open houses:Our OASD elementary schools will be hosting open houses for families that are new to the OASD or considering enrolling for the 2019-20 school year. At the open houses, families will learn more about our OASD schools, get a tour of the school, meet the principal, and join some of our fun events. If you know a family that's considering the OASD, please invite them to an open house to see our school first-hand. More information is available on our website or by clicking this link.

MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY OFFERING 4K WRAP AROUND CARE FOR 2019-20: Meadow View Elementary School will be offering 4K Wrap Around Care for the 2019-20 school year, in partnership with the YMCA at Pabst Farms. Participants will attend the morning 4K program and the YMCA will provide afternoon care from 11:20 a.m. – 3:40 p.m., right at Meadow View. Families can also take advantage of the Y Care Before or After School Program, for care before and after school hours. OASD SUMMER SCHOOL 2019 – ONLINE REGISTRATION: Online registration for Summer School 2019 will open on April 8, at 6:00 a.m., and will close on April 17, at 12:00 p.m. All registration will occur using your Skyward Family Access online account. Course brochures will be posted at www.oasd.org/SummerSchool on March 21. Summer school will be held June 17-July 26, 2019, at Greenland Elementary School for 5K-grade 3, Nature Hill Intermediate School for grades 4-8, and Oconomowoc High School for grades 9-12.

Staff Spotlights

In the last OASD parent satisfaction survey, we asked parents if there were any staff members they wanted to recognize for good work. The positive response was so overwhelming that we'd like to honor those staff members by sharing a weekly Teacher Tuesday Spotlight, along with our Faculty Friday Spotlight.

Facility Updates

MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY: Work on the new school has continued despite the challenging weather, with the most progress occurring in the grade 1-4 wing. In this area, exterior sheathing installation is nearly complete, drywall installation in the lower level of this wing is well underway, and one of the stairwells has been installed. Both electrical and fire protection rough-in has also begun in this wing. Roof installation on the grade 1-4 wing will be complete by the end of the month. In other areas of the building, drywall work is nearing completion in the 4K-5K wing, metal framing is going up in the library and related spaces in that area, and concrete is scheduled to be poured for the social stair in the cafeteria/commons area next week.

CHATFIELD INSTRUMENT RESTORATION CAMPAIGN: Oconomowoc High School is leading a campaign to restore four beautiful, handcrafted, vintage string instruments: two violins, a cello and a viola. These fine musical instruments were built by local musician Frank Chatfield, and donated to the school in the 1930's. The donated instruments were used by students for several decades until they fell into disrepair and were put into storage. In 2015, OHS launched a campaign to preserve these instruments and restore them to playing condition. Visit our website for more information on the campaign and to make a tax deductible donation to preserve these instruments.

OHS Athletics

BOYS BASKETBALL: Varsity headed to Waukesha West on February 5, but brought home a 64-38 loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Varsity faced Waukesha West at home on February 5, and ended with a 55-48 loss.

KMMO HOCKEY: The KMMO Varsity Team headed to Sun Prairie last weekend and brought home two wins, against Waukesha and Sun Prairie. Come out for the KMMO game tomorrow at Nagawaukee Ice Arena at 5:15 p.m. for JV and 7:00 p.m. for Varsity. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the food drive the team is sponsoring.

GIRLS HOCKEY: The Arrowhead Co-Op team faced the Warbirds on February 6, at the Mullett Ice Center and ended with a 0-5 loss.

SKI TEAM: The team ran a slalom race at Little Switzerland on February 5 and finished with Varsity Girls, JV Girls, and JV Boys taking second place, and Varsity Boys taking third place.

WRESTLING: The team traveled to Waukesha South for a Classic 8 Conference tournament on February 1, and tied with Catholic Memorial for 5^th place out of nine teams. Come cheer on the team tomorrow in the OHS Gale Douglas Fieldhouse as we host the WIAA wrestling regional, starting at 10:00 a.m.
