District News

OHS AUTOMOTIVE PROGRAM RIBBON CUTTING: Join us at a ribbon cutting celebration to launch the new Automotive Program at OHS. The Oconomowoc community, OHS families, and students are invited to the OHS Auto Lab on Tuesday, August 27^th at 1:30 p.m. for a ribbon cutting, then guests can tour the new automotive classroom. Please park in the staff parking lot at the back of OHS and enter the Auto Lab through the garage door. OHS families and students can go from the celebration to the OHS Back-to-School Open House which starts at 2:00 p.m.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL OPEN HOUSES ON AUGUST 27^TH: Join us at Back-to-School Open House for all of our OASD schools. This is a great time for students and families to visit their schools, get familiar with classroom locations, meet teachers, and drop off school supplies. Open House times will be:

• Oconomowoc High School: 2:00-5:00 p.m.
• Nature Hill & Silver Lake Intermediate Schools: 3:00-6:00 p.m.
• Greenland, Ixonia, Meadow View, Park Lawn & Summit Elementary Schools: 400-7:00 p.m.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL IN THE OASD: We're excited to start the 2019-20 school year! The first day of school fluctuates slightly, depending on what grade your child is entering. Here is our first day of school schedule:

Students entering 4K:

• 4K students will start school on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
• Students attending the morning 4K program will be in school from 8:40 to 11:20 a.m.
• Students attending the afternoon 4K program will be in school from 1:00 to 3:40 p.m.

Students entering 5K – 4^th Grade:

• 5K-4^th grade students will start school on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
• Students in grades 5K through 4^th will be in school from 8:40 a.m.-3:40 p.m.

Students entering 5^th – 8^th Grade:

• 5^th – 8^th grade students will start school on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
• Students in grades 5 through 8 will be in school from 7:30 a.m. - 2:55 p.m.

Students entering 9^th Grade:

• Oconomowoc High School Freshman will start school on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
• Students at OHS will be in school from 7:20 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.
• This is the first year that only Freshman will be at school on the first day. This will allow our newest Raccoons to learn their way around the building and integrate themselves into the OHS community.
• ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED
• Buses will operate on their regular schedule.
• Students will meet their teachers but should not bring their Chromebooks or school supplies on September 3^rd. Freshman should bring Chromebooks and school supplies on Wednesday, September 4^th.
• The day is designed to help students meet each other, learn about high school, and lay a foundation for a fun and successful year.
• Students will be able to purchase lunch in the cafeteria or bring their own lunch on September 3^rd.
• There will be an OHS All School Cookout on Wednesday, September 4^th and lunch will be free. There is no need to bring a lunch that day.

Students entering 10^th – 12^th Grade:

• Oconomowoc High School Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will start school on Wednesday, September 4, 2019
• Students at OHS will be in school from 7:20 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.
• Students should bring their Chromebooks and school supplies on September 4^th.
• There will be an OHS All School Cookout on Wednesday, September 4^th and lunch will be free. There is no need to bring a lunch that day.

RACCOON RALLY 2019: Save the date for the 2^nd Annual Raccoon Rally at Oconomowoc High School. OHS Student Council will host this pre-game family carnival and community event on Friday, September 6, 2019, from 4:00-7:30 p.m. at Rux Stadium, with a Varsity Football Game starting at 7:00 p.m. The rally will feature carnival games, face painting, music, a performance stage, bouncy houses, food, and more! Facility Updates

THE TIME HAS FINALLY ARRIVED: Our Meadow View Elementary staff gained occupancy of the new school on Thursday, August 15, and have been busy getting classrooms and learning spaces ready to welcome families at Open House on Tuesday.The new Meadow View Elementary is ready to welcome students on the first day of school and welcome the entire community at our Dedication Celebration on September 29.

SAVE THE DATE - MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY DEDICATION CELEBRATION: OASD Families and the Oconomowoc community are invited to celebration the opening of the new Meadow View Elementary School at a dedication celebration on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Meadow View Elementary, 1500 Whalen Drive, Oconomowoc. There will be a formal dedication ceremony followed by tours of the building.

OHS Athletics

DANCE TEAM: The OHS Dance Team is hosting their Annual Youth Clinic on Friday, September 6, from 4:00-6:30 p.m. The clinic is open to kids in 4K-8^th grade and will be held in the OHS Gale Douglas Fieldhouse. Learn more and sign up by visiting the OASD Online Webstore.

GOLF: The Girls Golf Team headed to the Washington County Invite on August 15, and took 13^th place out of the 23 teams that participated. They faced 19 other teams in the Franklin Invite on August 16, at Brown Deer Golf Course, and finished in 16^th place. The team played in the BCH Classic on August 19 and August 20, where Grace S. achieved a school record score of 67 on day two, and finished in third place overall.

WRESTLING: The OHS Athletic Department is excited to announce that Ryan Woods will be our new Head Wrestling Coach. Mr. Woods is no stranger to Ocon Wrestling, he has spent the last three years working as our Youth Wrestling Director. Read more about Mr. Woods on the OASD website.

GIRLS SOCCER: The OHS Athletic Department is pleased to welcome Kayla Hottinger as the new OHS Girls Head Soccer Coach. Mrs. Hottinger comes to OHS from Milton High School where she has been the Head Coach since 2014. Prior to that, she was the JV Coach from 2011-2013.
