The Oconomowoc High School (OHS) Athletic Department is excited to announce that Ryan Woods will be our new Head Wrestling Coach. Mr. Woods is no stranger to Ocon Wrestling, he has spent the last three years working as our Youth Wrestling Director.

Mr. Woods is a 2006 graduate of Bay Port High School. While there, he wrestled all 4 years and was a two-time WIAA Division 1 State Qualifier and a State Runner-up Champion. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and was a four-year letter winner. He received his degree in Sports and Fitness Management and has a Wisconsin Coaching Certificate.

His coaching background includes work at UW-Parkside as an Assistant Coach where he coached four All-Americans and he was a Graduate Assistant at UW-Whitewater where the team placed third in the country while also coaching six All-Americans. Mr. Woods was also the Head Coach of the Kenosha Wrestling Club for two years and worked as a camp counselor/clinician for the United State Naval Academy for two summers. He has also coached in the Ben Askren Wrestling Academy for three years.

We would like to thank VJ Scully, Lloyd Marks, John Griswold, and Eric Jensen for serving on the hiring committee. Having a strong alumni base and support is very important if we are going to continue to build upon the successes of our wrestling programs here at OHS.

Please give a warm welcome to Ryan Woods, we are excited for him to join our Ocon family.
