SAVE THE DATE - MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY DEDICATION CELEBRATION: OASD Families and the Oconomowoc community are invited to celebrate the opening of the new Meadow View Elementary School at a dedication celebration on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Meadow View Elementary, 1500 Whalen Drive, Oconomowoc. There will be a formal dedication ceremony followed by tours of the building.

OCONOMOWOC HIGH SCHOOL & WAUKESHA WEST HONORING COACH ED RUX: The Oconomowoc High School Varsity Football team will be hosting Waukesha West High School for the OHS Homecoming game on Friday, October 4.Rux Stadium, home of the OHS Raccoons, is named after Oconomowoc's Hall of Fame Football Coach, Mr. Ed Rux who served as OHS Varsity Football Coach from 1967-1999. Mr. Rux's son, Steve Rux is an OHS alumni, past teacher, and past football coach at OHS. In 2000, he became the Head Varsity Football Coach at Waukesha West High School. Coach Ed Rux was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2004. In order to honor the legacy of Ed Rux and to raise funds and awareness for Alzheimer's Disease, OHS is selling t-shirts to honor Mr. Rux. Shirts in either school's colors can be purchased for $10 online through the OASD Web Store by Monday, September 23, at noon. Shirts must be picked up at the OHS Main Office or Waukesha West Main Office on Thursday, October 3rd. Proceeds will benefit Alzheimer's research.
OHS vs. ARROWHEAD FOOTBALL FOOD CHALLENGE: For the second year, OHS and Arrowhead High School are participating in the WISN 12 Football Food Challenge, a friendly competition to see which school can raise the most money and food for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. OHS had the most donations last year - help us bring in the most donations again this year! You can bring non-perishable food items to the OHS Main Office between Monday, September 23 - Thursday, September 26.You can also donate by text or online. Visit the OASD website to learn more and participate in the challenge.
OHS AP Environmental Science class making reusable grocery bags: The OHS AP Environmental Science class had huge success making reusable grocery bags last year, so they're continuing the tradition – but they need your help! These bags will be distributed in Oconomowoc for people to use, for free, instead of plastic bags. Students need help with donations of fabric and thread to make this project possible. Visit the OASD website for more information then join these students in sewing reusable bags on October 17, from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the OHS East Campus Board Room.
OHS Athletics
Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club Annual Tailgate: You're invited to the Oconomowoc Sports Booster Club Annual Family Tailgate Party!Friday, September 20, at the OHS Cafeteria and OHS Tailgate Zone.Food is provided by Texas Roadhouse of Waukesha and drinks are provided by Ewald Automotive Group.The event is free for 2019-20 Booster Club Members.Non-members can pay $15/individual or $25/family and receive their meals, Booster Club membership for 2019-20 and admission to the OHS Football game that night. The tailgate is from 5:00-7:00 p.m., followed by the Varsity football game vs. Muskego High School at 7:00 p.m.
FOOTBALL: The Varsity team traveled to Waukesha South on September 13, and secured a 55-21 victory.
GOLF: The team hosted six schools at Oconomowoc Country Club for a mega-mini on September 16, and finished with 3rd place. They headed to Edgewood Country Club to compete against the same six schools on September 17, and finished 4th, with a 191 total and 382 overall for September 16 and 17. They finished their busy week at Wanaki Golf Course for the Waukesha County Championship on September 19, taking a 6th place finish.
SOCCER: The Varsity and JV teams hosted Sun Prairie on September 14, and the Varsity team clenched a 2-1 victory. JV suffered their first loss of the season, finishing 3-0.On September 17, the teams faced Muskego with JV clenching a 3-1 win and Varsity extending their winning streak with a 7-0 win. On September 19, OHS hosted Sussex Hamilton and Varsity finished with a close 2-1 loss.
TENNIS: The Varsity team traveled to Mukwonago on September 13, and captured a 6-1 win that included two third sets and four tiebreakers. They headed to Waukesha South on September 18, and brought home a 6-1 win. The team ended the week by hosting Kettle Moraine on September 19, and played hard but dropped a 5-2 loss.
VOLLEYBALL: The JV and Varsity teams hosted Youth Night on September 17, and had over 80 youth players attend to cheer on OHS.With all of the support, our Volleyball teams swept Waukesha North, with JV2 winning 3-0, JV1 winning 3-0, and Varsity winning 3-0.
