Nature Hill Art Show: Nature Hill Intermediate has an art show at the OAC in the “Imagine a Day Youth Art Gallery”, February 1- March 31. You can find student art work on the north end of the OAC Lobby. Be sure to stop and check out this great show.
OHS Student Visitor Host Families Needed: Oconomowoc High School will host high school students from Thailand from April 22-May 12, 2017. Students will stay with host families, and experience what life is like for students in the U.S.A. If you are an OHS family and would be interested in hosting a student or students please contact Danielle Chaussée.
OHS Senior Directed Play: This year’s senior directed show is, Baskerville, a Sherlock Holmes mystery written by the hilarious playwright, Ken Ludwig. Directed by Oconomowoc High School seniors Peggie Alexander and Ian Smith, this play is based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous story, the Hound of the Baskervilles. It tells the story of Sherlock Holmes’ and Dr. Watson’s greatest case yet! Show dates for Baskerville are Thursday, February 23rd at 7:30 p.m., Friday, February 24th at 7:00 p.m., and two performances on Saturday February 25th, a matinee at 2:00 p.m. and a night performance at 7:30 p.m. Click here for additional show information and how to purchase tickets. Facility Project Update
On January 30, 2017 the School Board met for the purpose of construction updates and to take action on a number of items related to the projects. We remain committed to open and transparent communication with you and our community as we develop all of these projects. To that end, we will be providing regular construction updates, along with photos and other visuals on the OASD website as work on them begins. - We continue to be on schedule with the heating, ventilation, cooling, and mechanical system updates to Greenland and Park Lawn. Design development is underway as engineers are planning for the installation of unit ventilators in classrooms and a number of approaches to both heat and cool the common areas in those buildings. The project is on budget and will be bid in early April. Work on the project will begin immediately after school is finished in June with project completion planned for the start of the 2017-18 school year in September.
- The School Board has taken action to secure a contract to acquire 20.2 acres of land for the new Meadow View Elementary, approximately a mile south of the current school site off of Brown Street/Hwy P. Our collaborative efforts with the City of Oconomowoc and St. Matthews church continue with regard to planning and development of our new school site, a new St. Matthews School, and a planned regional city park. Schematic design work on the new school begins next week!
- The School Board approved the schematic design for the new addition and renovation of Ixonia Elementary School. The project is on budget and will be bid in mid-April. Work on the project will begin immediately after school is finished in June, and will be completed in August, 2018.
- Planning for the renovation of the classroom spaces at OHS Main Campus as well as the East Campus renovation will begin in March.
Athletics
OHS VARSITY BOYS BASKETBALL: The OHS girls won their January 31 Varsity game vs. Hartford with a final, 70-33. They play next on Friday, February 3 at Oconomowoc vs. West Bend West at 7:15 p.m.
OHS VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL: The OHS girls came through with a victory over West Bend West on January 27 with a final score 50-48. The win has improved their Wisconsin Little Ten record to 7-2.
OHS VARSITY WRESTLING: In their final Wisconsin Little Ten Conference dual meet before league tournament, the OHS wrestling team lost to Beaver Dam January 31, 32-31. OHS will be at the Watertown WLT tournament on February 4, 2017. On January 27, Oconomowoc beat longtime Wisconsin Little Ten Conference rival Hartford, 64-11 and took second place on Saturday, January 28 at the Pewaukee Duals. OHS GYMANSTICS: The Oconomowoc gymnastics team finished fourth out of nine teams with an overall score of 124.225 on January 28 at the Menomonee Falls/Germantown Invitational. Click here for full article.
KMMO HOCKEY: The Varsity Hockey Team lost to Sun Prairie 3-2 in the Ground Hog Tournament Consolation Championship Game held in Madison on January 28, 2017. Tournament games included a loss on Tuesday to Waukesha 4-2, and a win over Monona Grove 6-5 in overtime on Friday night. Congrats to Henry Hove on his Waukesha game tying goal and 2 assists. Also adding points were Jake Carfagna with his two assists and Matthew Swanson with one assist. This week the Varsity Team travels to Arrowhead on Tuesday night, 1/31 at the Mullet Center and Kenosha on Wednesday night, 2/1 in two key conference games. The JV Hockey team traveled to Baraboo this past weekend and beat Edgewood 5-1. The team finished out with two losses to Wausau West 3-1 and Baraboo 6-3.
OHS SKI TEAM: On January 26 the OHS Ski Team skied vs Kettle Moraine, Wauwatosa, Waukesha, & Badger at Alpine Valley. Course conditions were tough due to the recent warm weather and rain but OHS had a successful night. OHS Varsity Boys finished 2nd, OHS Varsity Girls finished 2nd, and OHS JV Purple finished 1st. Individual medals went to Connor Carlson in 1st place, Brady Carlson in 3rd, and Alyssa Messer in 2nd.
OTHER ATHLETIC NEWS: Congratulations to Brian Jacques and Ben Nienhuis for receiving athletic scholarships for the fall of 2017. Brian will run Cross Country for Northern Iowa Area Community College and Ben will play football for Drake University. Congratulations! Click here for a photo.

Oconomowoc High School
Congratulations to Mrs. Beth Tillema, an OHS accounting teacher at OHS who has been awarded a WICPA Educational Foundation Accounting Careers Awareness Grant. Awarded grants encourage recipients to collaborate with CPA’s, parents, schools, universities or community organizations to help promote accounting as a career.
Congratulations to David Vowels, a graduating senior at Oconomowoc High School has been named one of more than 4,000 candidates in the 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.5 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2017. Inclusion in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, now in its 53nd year, is one of the highest honors bestowed upon graduating high school seniors. Scholars are selected on the basis of superior academic and artistic achievements, leadership qualities, strong character and involvement in community and school activities. Arts are the thread that ties communities together and reflects students’ voices, life experiences, hopes and dreams. Oconomowoc High School is proud to announce our first annual Student Art Festival that highlights the best in area Arts programs and paints a picture of the communities we call home. The Anchor Event is the 2nd Annual Lake Country Film Festival, held on the evenings of March 31 and April 1. This school year, we are expanding to include many more Art categories.
