WELLNESS TIP OF THE WEEK: 5 Ways to Enjoy More Fruits and Veggies
- 1. PIZZA- load up your pie with lots of healthy veggies- broccoli, zucchini, spinach, bells peppers and mushrooms would all be great choices
- 2. SMOOTHIES- a great way to enjoy a variety of fruits. You can sneak some veggies in to certain recipes and your kids will never know their eating them!
- 3. GRILL OUT- as the weather warms, we’ll be pulling out the grill more often to make our meals. Colorful veggie kabobs are a fun and healthy way to add veggies to a meal
- 4. KEEP THEM HANDY- pre-wash and cut fruits and veggies so they are ready and at hand for snacks or to add into meals. You’ll be more likely to reach for them when the prep work is already done.
- 5. GET SAUCY- use fruit puree for a sauce for chicken or fish, or even as a topping for breakfast treats like pancakes or waffles
