Assessments provide useful information for monitoring student progress and improving instruction. All students in the OASD participate in a variety of tests throughout the year that provide measures of student growth and achievement.

During the weeks of September 8 – October 3, Oconomowoc students in grades 5K to 8 take a computerized assessment called Measures of Academic Progress™ (MAP). MAP tests measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year. MAP tests help identify skills and concepts individual students have learned, monitor academic growth over time, and  help guide appropriate instruction. Students will be assessed in reading and mathematics. The total test time ranges from 1 to 3 hours.

There are resources for parents and students on our website about MAP testing:

There is also a calendar posted on the Student Assessment Resource Page that lists all testing that will take place during the 2014-2015 school year. The Assessment calendar explains tests, grade levels taking the tests, date windows for the tests, subjects covered, purpose of the test and the mode in which the test will be given.  Click here to view the Student Assessment 2014-2015 Schedule.
