Superintendent Update for the Week Ending October 25, 2019

OHS PLAYERS PRESENT WEST SIDE STORY: This landmark Broadway musical is inspired by William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Timeless music composed by the late Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, include "Maria," "Tonight," "America," "Somewhere," "I Feel Pretty," "Gee, Officer Krupke," and more. From the first notes to the final breath, the world's greatest love story takes to the streets in this dynamic production that is considered one of theater's finest accomplishments. West Side Story contains mature content and is appropriate for ages 12 and older. This period piece includes depiction of violence, prejudiced language, and safe gunfire simulation. Tickets are on sale now at www.TheOAC.net.

OHS Athletics

CROSS COUNTRY: The Boys and Girls teams competed in Muskego for the final Classic 8 Conference meet of the season on October 19.The Boys Varsity team took 1st place in the conference and Girls Varsity team took 4th place in the conference.


FOOTBALL: The Varsity team faced Wauwatosa East on October 18, for Senior night and secured a 21-6 win.


SOCCER: The Varsity team hosted the WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on October 22, and beat Badger 4-2.They'll take on Middleton tomorrow for the regional final at 4:00 p.m. on the OHS soccer field.


SWIM: The Girls swim team faced off against Brown Deer on October 23, and came away with a big win. Anna B., Meghan S., and Annie L. won two events, MaryClaire K. won four events, and Makenna S. won one event.


TENNIS: Aubrey B. and Sarah K. played in the WIAA State Tournament in Madison this weekend and won rounds against Verona, Franklin, and Cedarburg. They played through Saturday and ended the season with a loss to Homestead, but finished in the Top 8 in the State! Congratulations on a great season!


VOLLEYBALL: The Varsity team played in the Arrowhead Invitational on October 19, and took 2nd place, increasing their overall record to 35-3 for the season. Come cheer on the team at Regional Finals on Saturday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m. in the OHS Gale Douglas Fieldhouse.

NEWLY RESTORED CHATFIELD INSTRUMENTS IN CONCERT ON NOVEMBER 3:The Oconomowoc community is invited to the Oconomowoc Chamber Orchestra Quartet Recital featuring the newly restored Chatfield Instruments, at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, at Zion Episcopal Church, 237 North Lake Road, in Oconomowoc. Musicians featured during the concert are Roberta Carpenter and Jennifer D'Alessio on violins, Robert Ignaszak on viola, and Paul Kilpatrick on cello. Michael Britz will join the group on string bass for Variations on Fanfare for Lake Country. A presentation about the Chatfield Instruments and restoration process by renowned Luthier, Scott Sleider will also be a part of the event.
