OCONOMOWOC, WI – March 24, 2017. The Oconomowoc Area School District is pleased to announce that Lynne Carlstein, choir teacher for grades 5-8 at Silver Lake Intermediate School, has been selected as a 2017 Herb Kohl Fellowship recipient. Mrs. Carlstein was chosen for this $3,000 grant because of her skill as a leader and agent for positive change in her classroom and school, and for her superior ability to inspire the love of learning.

Silver Lake Intermediate will also receive a $3,000 grant. Both Carlstein and Silver Lake will be recognized at a regional luncheon on Saturday, April 8 at Greendale High School, along with other recipients. The grant funds will be paid out this June.

Congratulations, Lynne from the Oconomowoc Area School District! Thank you for your dedication to our students.

About the Kohl Teacher Fellowship Program

The Kohl Teacher Fellowship program recognizes and supports teaching excellence and innovation in the State of Wisconsin. Their goal is to support teachers in the pursuit of their unrealized goals for their classrooms or professional development. This year, the Foundation increased its awards to 100 Wisconsin teachers to $3,000, and each Kohl Fellowship recipient's school will receive a matching $3,000 grant. Recipients' professional accomplishments are celebrated at a recognition luncheon in the spring. The applications of the public school Kohl fellowship recipients will automatically be used as the applicants for the Wisconsin Teacher of the Year program.
